The Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh), under the leadership of Gov. Aris Aumentado, convened the Bohol Investment Assistance Network (BIAN) Forum 2026: “One-Stop Solutions for the Local Furniture Industry” alongside the DENR Express: Permitting on Wheels on May 12 at the Ceremonial Hall of the New Provincial Capitol.
The forum gathered DENR Region 7, DTI, provincial offices, furniture makers, and stakeholders to address long-standing concerns on environmental compliance, permitting, raw material sourcing, and sustainable livelihood opportunities for the local furniture industry.
Caberte highlighted the PGBh’s commitment to creating practical and sustainable solutions for Boholano craftsmen and MSMEs, while Aumentado-Villamor emphasized bridging the gap between environmental compliance and accessibility through stronger collaboration among agencies and stakeholders.
The activity also featured discussions on environmental laws, permit requirements, and government support programs for furniture makers, followed by one-on-one technical assistance and permit processing sessions that will continue until May 13 at the New Provincial Capitol.
Aligned with the Strategic Governance Roadmap, the initiative reinforces the PGBh’s commitment to sustainable development, livelihood support, environmental stewardship, and empowering Boholano industries while preserving the province’s identity as a UNESCO Global Geopark.
