The approval of Republic Act 10644: An Act Promoting Job Generation and Inclusive Growth through the Development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), otherwise known as “Go Negosyo Act” is targeted to bring government services closer to these MSMEs, particularly the small businesses, through the establishment of Negosyo Centers in all provinces, cities, and municipalities.
Subject to the provisions of this act, the Bohol Investment Promotion Center (BIPC) operates as a Negosyo Center making it the second Negosyo Center here in Bohol.
As a Negosyo Center, the office is responsible for promoting ease of doing business and facilitating access to services for MSMEs within its jurisdiction. Thus, aside from facilitating business registration through the Philippine Business Registry (PBR) System, the BIPC aims to provide other services to MSMEs that will foster inclusive growth and continued promotion of entrepreneurship in the province of Bohol.
In order to achieve this, the BIPC came up with a program that will help the MSMEs acquire the necessary information and skills that they need in establishing and developing their businesses called the Basic Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Transformation (BEST) Series. The BEST Series, thus, serves as an active response to the function of the Center in Business Information and Advocacy. Through the BEST Series, several speakers from different government agencies and private sector will be invited to conduct free learning sessions for existing and potential entrepreneurs on topics related to business.
- To provide existing MSMEs the necessary information and skills that they need in developing their businesses
- To enhance the entrepreneurial level of the aspiring entrepreneurs
- To equip the staff with technical knowledge to carry out their tasks
- To strengthen the information assistance service of the office through providing customers with accurate and relevant information pertaining to business
